HOW DO YOU PRICE YOUR SERVICES?
First4 charges a one time implementaton fee to set up a new client. This amount varies dependent on the level of commitment we are making to each other. When we implement our monitoring, it will include a full assessment of your database environment so that it can be improved before beginning regular monitored maintenance. IN THIS ECONOMY, MY COMPANY IS CONCERNED ABOUT MAKING A LONG TERM COMMITMENT TO A MANAGED SERVICE PROVIDER.
You can involve First4 on an ad-hoc basis to address a specific concern in your environment. You can try us out as a managed service provider at our entry level of service which does not include monitoring but gives you immediate access to our DBAs for assistance. This has a lower maintenance and implementation fee. All First4 contracts can be cancelled at any time, if you are not happy, we are not happy.
WHY DOES FIRST4 USE WHAT IS BASICALLY A TIME AND MATERIALS APPROACH.
First4 has felt that the amount of database support activity can change depending on the type of application running on the database, the economic conditions the company is operating in and the life cycle of the database technology it is using. These factors dictate what level of risk a company is willing to take on with reduced maintenance. First4 does not want the client paying for services that it cannot use which happens in a fixed price approach. Our model allows First4 to be extremely flexible with the clients changing needs.
HOW QUICKLY CAN FIRST4 DATABASE SERVICES BE STARTED UP?
Depending on the size of the organization, First4 can get a client implemented within days of contract signing. If clients are larger and require Risk Assessments and other reviews, the implementation can be a little longer.
I HAVE A SPECIFIC PROBLEM WITH MY DATABASE, CAN I JUST INVOLVE FIRST4 TO FIX THIS ONE PROBLEM
Absolutely! First4 DBAs will do short term engagements to fix a specific problem or participate in a unique project for your company. We feel that once you have had a chance to work with First4 on any engagement, you will seriously consider us to help out longer term with your database environment.
